AMAZING FACT :

It is believed that the flow of the Yangtze was formed from the water of several nearby streams that drained areas east and west of low mountains in the center of present-day China. The rise of the Tibet Plateau and the sinking of the land to the east of the country were factors that led to the flow of water to the east, towards the South China Sea.

The Yangtze River has a length of approximately 6,300 kilometers, and its watershed covers an area of about 1,808,500 km2, that is, more than 7 times the size of the United Kingdom. It originates in the mountains of the Tibet Plateau, in Qinghai Province, at heights of over 4,900 meters, and flows from west to east through lower lands until it is poured into the East China Sea.
